One of the leading Healthcare Companies is currently seeking a Surgical 1st Assistant Trainee to join one of their Hospitals located in Essex.

The hospital provides a range of specialities including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Vascular, Plastics, Gynae, Opthamology, Spinal and many more. There are theatres and surgical wards for the service users that are offered a variety of different treatments.

If you are successful for this role you will receive a competitive salary of up to £34,000 per annum (depending on experience) with great additional benefits such as a pension scheme, life assurance, medical cover, wellness screening, childcare vouchers, free onsite parking and many more. Flexible hours are available, as well as a fixed term contract if you are unsure about the role.

As a Trainee First Assistant, you will be joining a team of professionals within the operating theatre. Determined to provide the highest quality of care, you will act as an advanced Surgical Practitioner while supporting the management and organisation of care within the operating theatre. Your main duties will include retracting tissue and organs, removing haemostats, using suction equipment and assisting with the placement and cutting of sutures and ligatures. You will be acting as a role model of Perioperative practice, supporting colleagues to develop their knowledge and experience.

You will be expected to be either a qualified operating department practitioner or a Registered General Nurse with an advanced Scrub Practitioner qualification in Perioperative practice or corporate competencies.

To be considered for this role you must have a RGN or ODP qualification with an advanced Scrub Practitioner qualification.
